As is the annual tradition, artists from Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia have submitted their works. This year, YPP made an exception and extended the invitation to the young Ukrainian artists currently residing in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. The winner of the 2022 YPP main prize will be announced on November 18th. Everyone wishing to see the exhibition of finalists are welcome to visit the Vilnius Picture Gallery where the artworks will be on display until the end of January 2023.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The YPP project aims to support the dynamic new art and showcase the brightest and most promising young painters from the Baltic states. Furthermore, YPP aims to help both local and international art professionals \u2013 collectors, managers and curators \u2013 discover new talent from the Baltic states and promote emerging artists, thus supporting their careers and ensuring their exposure to the art market.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As is the tradition every year, YPP is pleased to offer the competition winner an exclusive &#8216;opportunity package&#8217; that includes: most extensive public exposure, financial support, art residency placement, solo exhibition, and invaluable new contacts. This year, the YPP winner will be awarded with a set of prizes: a two month residency in SiM, Iceland; a cash prize of EUR 3,000; and an opportunity to hold two solo shows: one at the H gallery (Paris), and one at Pam\u0117nkalnio Gallery (Vilnius). The YPP winner&#8217;s artwork will also be included in the painting collection at the Lithuanian National Museum of Art and will be stored in the National Gallery of Art, Vilnius.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Since 2009, Young Painter&#8217;s Prize has been committed to helping young creatives, and this year we are extremely happy to offer them such a exclusive prize which was kindly provided by Luminor Bank. The special prize winner\u2019s artwork will be purchased by Luminor Bank and sold in an auction. Luminor Bank offers their special prize as part of the continuing initiative &#8220;The Art of Growing Value&#8221; aimed at supporting up-and-coming artists. The programme aims to fund &#8220;Jaunimo linija&#8221;, the first Lithuanian psychological help line for youth run by volunteers online and via phone.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The YPP applicants are traditionally assessed by an international jury of art world professionals: established artists, art critics, curators, gallerists and art collectors. This year&#8217;s jury consists of: H\u00e9lianthe Bourdeaux-Maurin (France), art historian and gallerist, director of H gallery Paris; Neringa Bumblien\u0117 (Lithuania), writer, art advisor, curator of the Contemporary Art Center in Vilnius; Barbara Gaile (Latvia), painter; Ar\u016bnas Gel\u016bnas (Lithuania), artist and philosopher, director of the Lithuanian National Art Museum; Thorkild NB Nielsen (Denmark), gallerist, director of Galleri NB, chairman of the Danish Gallery Society; Philippe Tavaud (France), contemporary art collector, curator, art advisor; and Kristi Kongi (Estonia), painter and installation artist.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This year&#8217;s jury has chosen fifteen artists from Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Ukraine as the YPP finalists: Adomas Rybakovas \/ LT, Anton Pedos \/ UA, Brenda Purtsak \/ EE, Caroliina Luhamets \/ EE, Edvinas Mikulskis \/ LT, Egl\u0117 Marcinkevi\u010di\u016bt\u0117 \/ LT , Jonas Me\u0161kauskas \/ LT , Laura Slavinskait\u0117 \/ LT , Linas Kaziulionis \/ LT , Lisette Lepik \/ EE, Mantas Valentukonis \/ LT, Marija Rinkevi\u010di\u016bt\u0117-\u0160pakausk\u0117 \/ LT, Edgars Nikolajevs \/ LV, Neda Naujokait\u0117 \/ LT, Andris Kalinins \/ LV.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>All these artists will now compete for the main prize. The 14<sup>th<\/sup> Young Painter&#8217;s Prize winner will be announced on November 18, when the jury will gather in Vilnius for a live discussion.
