The Lithuanian National Museum of Art (LNMA) presents a publication <\/span>Inflammation<\/span><\/i> introducing the Lithuanian pavilion at the 60th International Venice Biennial. The Lithuanian pavilion represented by Pakui Hardware (<\/span>Neringa \u010cerniauskait\u0117 and Ugnius Gelguda), and Marija Teres\u0117 Ro\u017eanskait\u0117 (1933\u20132007),<\/span> with production by the LNMA, opens on 20th April. The artwork by the artists is linked by the themes of medicine, control, natural, cosmic and industrial settings. The pavilion and the publication likewise span the experience by different generations to explore the inflammatory impact by current economic and social conditions on (post)human bodies. The inspiration comes from the most recent book by Rupa Marya and Raj Patel <\/span>Deep Medicine and the Anatomy of Injustice,<\/span><\/i> anchored on the concept of an inflammation as a metaphor incorporating the systemic wrongs that afflict humanity and the planet.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The publication features texts by <\/span>Ar\u016bnas Gel\u016bnas, Estelle Hoy, I\u0161ora x Lozuraityt\u0117 Studio, Valentinas Klima\u0161auskas, Inga L\u0101ce and Jo\u00e3o Laia. According to the contributors, this joint appearance of the artwork by Ro\u017eanskait\u0117 and <\/span>Pakui Hardware links the protagonists, environments and the moments of crisis to arrive at a metabolic balance and \u201cto cool down\u201d the highly feverish human and planetary bodies.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
