\u201cThis year we took twenty restorers of different specialties who, over the course of their individual two-week traineeships will deepen their knowledge in such fields as easel painting, art on paper, polychrome wooden sculpture, textiles, ceramics, metalwork, artistic furniture, archaeological finds and research. This help is important to Ukraine and will be instrumental in the restoration of the country\u2019s war-devasted museums and museum properties,\u201d Dr J\u016brat\u0117 Senvaitien\u0117, director of the restoration centre, says.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Alesia Skoromna, who arrived from the National Kyiv-Pechersk Historical Cultural Preserve, says that she has come to the Pranas Gudynas Conservation Centre to deepen her knowledge: \u201cI want to expand my experience and to learn more about the new modern restoration methods which I intend to present to my colleagues as well. I try to look for new contacts for networking. Quite a few of my friends have already been through training at the Pranas Gudynas Conservation Centre. It has a good reputation among us, therefore I also decided to give it a try.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The traineeships of the autumn 2025 are a continuation of the long-term collaboration of the Pranas Gudynas Conservation Centre and the Ukrainian restorers. Since 2014, the centre receives professionals of different specialties from Ukraine \u2013 their training is according to their personal needs and the plans of individual specialties. The project for this autumn was initiated by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Pranas Gudynas Conservation Centre receives specialists from the following museums and institutions: Andrey Sheptytsky National Museum of Lviv, National Conservation Area \u201cSt. Sophia of Kyiv\u201d, Lviv Historical Museum, National Kyiv-Pechersk Historical Cultural Preserve, Borys Voznytsky Lviv National Art Gallery, and the Ukrainian National Research and Conservation Centre.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Pranas Gudynas Conservation Centre of the LNMA, the country\u2019s leading national institution of research and conservation of cultural properties is also the most renowned centre of the type in Eastern and Central Europe. The centre performs the highly profile conservation and restoration projects for the museums, churches and the state institutions.
