Tuesday, 14 May 2024, 9-11am, a fire evacuation exercises will take place at the Palanga Amber Museum. The exercise is organized in cooperation with the Fire and Rescue Department under the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Lithuania. A fire truck will arrive at the museum, firefighters will extinguish the fire, evacuate the premises and carry out other actions.
The aim of this exercise is to improve the training and practical testing of museum staff in the event of a fire, to improve their skills in informing and warning visitors, rescuing works of art, cooperating with firefighters and other special services, and evacuating people.
The Palanga Amber Museum will be open from 11 am to 6pm on Tuesday 14 May.

Director General of the LNMA Arūnas Gelūnas receives the Knight’s Cross of the French National Order of the Legion of Honour
On 13th July, Dr Arūnas Gelūnas, Director General of the Lithuanian National Museum of Art, was awarded the Knight’s Cross of the French National Order of the Legion of Honour. Founded in 1802 by the Emperor Napoleon, it is the highest state decoration of the French Republic.
