Oleksandr Bohomazov. Creative Laboratory
Radvila Palace Museum of Art is open with an exhibition of international importance Oleksandr Bohomazov. Creative Laboratory, presenting previously unseen works by the distinguished artist of Ukrainian avant-garde, art theorist, and educator Olaksandr Bohomazov (1880–1930).
Captivating from the very first glance with sophisticated artistry and a powerful artistic temperament the works by O. Bohomazov hold a special place in Ukrainian art history and offer an opportunity to reflect on the artist’s place in the world-wide avant-garde movement. The curator of the exhibition Olena Kashuba-Volvach shares that ‘The exhibition Oleksandr Bohomazov: Creative Laboratory invites the viewer to plunge into the depths of the artist’s creative process. Numerous sketches and studies presented along with his paintings offer an opportunity to see how pictorial ideas are born “at the tip of the pencil” and turn into consummate artistic images.’

The exhibition East in the West by the interdisciplinary art group Baltos kandys (White Moths)
Votes & Voices. Swiss Campaign Posters from 1918 to the Present
Visiting the exhibition of works by the recipient of the Lithuanian National Prize for Culture and Arts Eglė Ridikaitė, it‘s worth paying special attention to the work Cultured Floor. For the artist, fragments of forgotten beauty serve as references to a bond of love, traces of faith which inspire her to go forward. It can be a person, a holy site or simply a cherished place in Vilnius. Last summer, she entered a synagogue in Gėlių Street to see the restoration in progress and noticed an ornament on the floor. She washed off the construction dust, transferred the pattern onto a plastic sheet, and now, during the exhibition, she is ‘highlighting’ the image with aerosol paint. Experiencing these works during the night might unfold new and mysterious experiences.
Šventė (Celebration) is a rather intriguing installation at the exhibition East in the West by the artist group White Moths (Baltos Kandys) .
The relationship of the group Baltos kandys with the East is twofold. By delving deep into the archetypal laws of world creation, the artists touch on images the roots of which reach not only to the symbols and rituals embedded in our tradition, but also those that exist in many other cultures. That is why in many art pieces, our fruits and herbs fit so organically with Buddhist ornamentation (Mandala), and Lithuanian and Far Eastern dishes find themselves on a common feast table (Celebration). It is a genuine part of life consciously told by the members of the group through their pieces.

Vaclovas RATAS. Beyond the Equator
The exhibition In Pursuit of Paris: the Stories of the VAA Residence Cité Internationale des Arts will surprise its visitors with a wide collection of memories compiled in biographical artefacts, diaries, personal confessions, and might require one to pay close attention not just while looking or watching, but also reading or listening in order to fully experience the passionate love for arts as well as French culture.
The life and work of Vaclovas Ratas (1910–1973) spans several continents: from Europe to Australia, and the United States, leaving his distinct mark wherever he went, especially on the other side of the equator. The artist arrived in Australia when he was already an experienced graphic artist with his own style. During the twenty-three years spent in Australia, the artist established his name in the country’s extensive graphic art history. Now, curated by Dr Tojana Račiūnaitė and Regina Urbonienė, the works of the artist are brought back and thoroughly presented in the exhibition at the Lithuanian Diaspora Art Museum as of 11 June, 2021.

Sacred Vilnius: Pilgrimage from the Gates of Dawn to Kalvarija Way of the Cross
This two-part exhibition is hosted by two museums: the display of the Picture Gallery of the Lithuanian National Museum of Art deals with the iconographic features of the temples and shrines along the pilgrim route, while the Church Heritage Museum invites to see different pieces of art connected to these temples and chapels. The displays are linked by the extant paintings from the chapels of Vilnius Calvary, part of which were thought to have been lost in the wake of the 1963 destruction. The exhibit evokes the former charm of the landscape of Kalvarija and presents, to the public and even researchers of Christian art, the little-known pieces of sacred art, rescued from the blown-up chapels of Kalvarija, the Chapel of Šnipiškės, and other places.

The permanent exhibit of the Palanga Amber Museum unveils the story of the Tyszkiewicz family life in Palanga. Visitors may also explore the vast collection of immense amber pieces holding 50 million years old specimens of flora and fauna. The highlight of the exhibit – Sun Stone, that weighs 3,524 kg and holding the famous trapped lizzard and its travel stories.
The Chapel Exhibit Hall shows works by artist Vita Pukštaitė-Bružė along with the exhibition-jewellery installation Under the Sun, consisting of new metal objects and jewellery works from amber, enamel, copper, silver, iron, mammoth bone, and other materials.
Balzac Café is open at the Palanga Amber Museum offering a cup of coffee or tea along with French desserts and snacks .Guests may also immerse in authentic palace atmosphere and enjoy the view from the terrace to the Birutės park and rose garden. In the evenings, the garden lights up with the most beautiful colours.

During Museums Night, Clock and Watch Museum in Klaipėda offers a visit to its renewed exhibitions. The exhibit in the second floor tells the story of clock history from different periods, mysteriously revealing it in a fascinating scenography of different lights and sounds. The Rennaisance Hall unveils the time telling history from the period of Sigismund the Elder and his son Sigismund II Augustus. The clocks, furniture, and paintings of Baroque period create the atmosphere of the Palace of Versailles as the exhibits of Rococo period guides one to Masen, the capital of European porcelain.
The sun dials located in the park of the Museum tell the exact time in Klaipėda, whilst the ‘Historical Time Games’ challenge one’s accuracy.

In the second half of the 20th century, Vytautas Valius was an artist of great oeuvre. A recipient of the Lithuanian National Prize for Culture and Arts as well as the Order of the Lithuanian Grand Duke Gediminas, Valius throughout his lifetime had created many paintings, frescoes, prints, stage designs, music compositions. The exhibition at Pranas Domšaitis Gallery invites its visitors to explore artist’s creative biography and previously unseen works.

Nomeda Saukienė. A Small Retrospective
The curator of the exhibition Ramutė Rachlevičiūtė writes, that ‘a sensitive and fragile relationship saturated with existentialist premonition and fatalism between live and seemingly dying creatures and close commune with the earthly substance of nature are the most outstanding features characterising the thirty-year period of the artist’s creative endeavour. A green den she paints reminds of a cosy shelter and a trap where human beings and animal creatures live their lives in a fairy-tale rich in symbols and metaphors.’
